CALL FOR JACKSONLIVE posted May.29 We're issuing an open call to live electronic music performers from the Greater Chicagoland area for a series of events entitled JacksonLive!, the first of which will take place on Friday, June 19th, 2009. These events will feature gifted artists from a greater spectrum of electronic music genre, bringing the live performance interpretation of their electronic compositions to an enthusiastically receptive audience. Through the diverse collection of performers, the series looks to provide the attendee a glimpse of the endless musical possibilities offered by electronic musicianship. Selected performers will all arrive early to soundcheck at the venue, and a cocktail reception will be held, at which time, the performance order will be randomly selected and announced. Performances will each last for approximately 50-55 minutes. For consideration, performers should send links to their online performance demo's via email to live@meiotica.com Submissions/performance requests will be taken on an ongoing basis for this and future events in the "JacksonLive" series. This call is open to all electronic music artists, though we'd certainly hope you're familiar with our events prior to sending in your submission. If not, please check the Meiotic/Jackson facebook group (link posted below) for a list of some artists we've previously booked to help you gauge where we're at musically. Goodbye, Friend. posted Jan.28 Very sad news: Telefon Tel Aviv's Charles Cooper passed away this past week. A longtime supporter, performer, and friend, to say that Charlie's presence will be missed is an understatement, to say the least. Josh Eustis has posted a statement on the TTA Myspace page. Our thoughts and prayers are with Josh and Charlie's family during this time of grievance. PREVIOUS NEWSLETTERS Our email newsletters dating back to February 2005 are viewable HERE
